Tennis…why we love it

More than 70 percent of all tennis is played extensively at public facilities.

Tennis is an Inclusive sport: The United States Tennis Association has launched Net Generation to get tennis to look more like America! Tennis is a game that can be adapted for any mental, physical or emotional disability.

48% of tennis players have an a average, 73% have never been sent to the Principals office, 82% volunteer in their communities, have lower rates of unhealthy behaviors like drinking, smoking, and are less likely to be overweight or become obese. (USTA Serves Special Report)

-People who participate in tennis 3 hours per week cut their risk of death in half from any cause (Physician Ralph Paffenbarger who studied over 10,000 people over a period of 20 years)

-Tennis players scored higher in vigor, optimism and self-esteem while scoring lower in depression, anger, confusion, anxiety and tension than any other athletes and non-athletes. (Dr. Joan Finn and colleagued Southern Connecticut State University)

-Regardless of Socioeconomic levels, tennis participants are at a much lower risk of being suspended or expelled from school.
